An Opulent, Formal Wedding at Fresh Meadows Country Club in Great Neck, New York
Erika Steinger (27 and a high school English teacher) and Jordan Stark (34 and in software sales) met on JDate, where they arranged their first date at the Flatiron Lounge in New York City. Coincidentally, they found out their were going to travel on the same cruise over the holidays just eight months later, and when their relationship carried into the trip, their families met for the first time at sea. When they saw how well their families connected, Jordan and Erika knew their relationship was special. After three years together, Jordan proposed just before Passover in the privacy of their Upper East Side apartment, which he covered in white sheets and rose petals. Erika walked in the door to a string trio playing her favorite song, "A Thousand Years," while Jordan got down on one knee. They got married at the Fresh Meadows Country Club in Great Neck, New York with both indoor and outdoor options for their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They hired Tantawan Bloom to create a fantastical environment with a variety of soft pink florals, including cherry blossoms as the main focus. The centerpieces and arrangements varied in height and were surrounded by silver candelabras, votive candles, and plenty of elegant draping. The couple had a traditional Jewish ceremony under a floral chuppah before a cocktail hour--with at least eight different food stations, a martini bar, and an ice luge--a formal dinner, dessert, and even an after party! Guests were treated to a handful of delicious favors, including a candy bar, s'mores, and a Brooklyn Popcorn Factory truck parked outside the venue.
