An Opulent Black Tie Wedding at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York

College Greek life brought together Hannah (25 and the COO of Intelligent Audit) and Michael (27 and a research analyst for a hedge fund) when their respective organizations teamed up for Greek Sing. According to the couple, "Mike was cast as the lead and was able to woo Hannah with his voice and dancing skills." When they won the competition, Mike kept coming up with excuses to see Hannah until they started dating. They graduated, moved to New York, and continued dating for three more years before getting engaged. When Mike got up early on Saturday with plans for them in the city, Hannah knew something was up. "Mike usually wakes up hours later and is never eager to make morning plans," she explains. They visited the Cloisters before walking through Fort Tryon Park and stopping at Linden Terrace, where Mike proposed on a bench with a view of the Hudson River. When she said "yes," they rushed downtown for a reservation for afternoon tea at The Plaza and celebrated in a room strewn with rose petals and their favorite champagne from Napa Valley. They got married at Oheka Castle, a luxurious estate with a distinct European feel built in 1919 in Huntington, New York. Befitting the venue, Hannah and Mike opted for a black tie dress code with the men in classic black tuxedos and the bridesmaid in full-length, champagne-colored gowns. They were a bit worried about their interfaith ceremony, but they hired both a rabbi and a priest to perform the union and explain all of the traditions to unfamiliar guests. At the reception, guests dined on a tremendous assortment of dishes from individual seafood, carving, regional Italian, antipasto, vegetarian, crudite, and kosher stations--and that was just for the cocktail hour! After a formal dinner, guests chose from two desserts: a golden egg filled with creme brulee and topped with merengue, and a chocolate heart filled with chocolate mousse with a swan profiterole. Finally, Hannah and Mike had a special surprise at their reception--a live performance of "Storybook Love" from the Princess Bride performed by Richie Sambora and Orianthi!
