Deep-red roses and purple calla lilies made for a dramatic bouquet.
During the cocktail hour, the escort cards were displayed on a table with pictures of Elisabeth’s and Michael’s parents and grandparents at their own weddings.
The tables were accented with silver and gold mercury votives, gold pillar candles and small mixed arrangements in silver mint julep cups. The effect was old-fashioned but not outdated.
The maids of honor carried mixed bouquets of roses, dahlias, spray roses and purple calla lilies.
Elisabeth decided on her wedding dress in 2008—when she saw it on Olivia Wilde at the Emmys.
The four layers of Elisabeth and Michael’s cake alternated between raspberry swirl and vanilla. Ivory buttercream, sugar roses, pearl piping and a gold monogram were literally icing on the cake.
Silver trumpet vases of dogwood branches drew the eye up from the round, ivory-clad reception tables.
The soles of Elisabeth’s ivory satin Louboutins matched the wedding color palette perfectly.
