An Old World-Inspired Wedding at Toledo Club in Toledo, Ohio
Although the Toledo Club in Toledo, Ohio, has undergone many renovations since it was built in 1889, the original elegance and history still shows through the architectural design of the interior space. "The Toledo Club was beautiful, and needed little to no additional decorations to obtain the sense of the 1910s that we were going for," Shawna Herold (27 and in quality assurance) says of her marriage to Stephan Mizer (27 and a teacher). Rad Photographer captured the rich color palette of greens, blues and reds that shaped the Old World vibe Shawna and Stephan had envisioned, which was perfectly embodied by the wedding party attire—from the bridesmaids' floor-length dresses that ranged in deep hues to the groomsmens' black suits paired with midnight blue polka dot ties. Shawna wore a unique Tara Keely ivory dress in a mermaid style, with a simple illusion neckline, long sleeves and a ruffled skirt trimmed with lace that went all the way to the floor. She held an elegant bridal bouquet filled with dark roses and dahlias, accented with baby's breath and blue waxflowers that gave the arrangement a pop of bright color. Shawna and Stephan were married in front of a grand fireplace inside the wood-accented room, with chairs for guests covered in white and tied with midnight blue ribbons that faced the front. The space was flipped for the reception, where round dining tables dressed in white tablecloths were decorated with simple centerpieces of baby's breath inside green glass bottles. We thought the escort card holders were crafty and creative, which were pieces of wood wrapped with yarn that also doubled as wedding favor frames for friends and family to take home.
