Despite frigid January temps, Bingqing Yu (26 and an architect) and Han Lin (26 and a consultant) were determined to re-create a spring-like environment reminiscent of their favorite TV wedding. “Han and I like to watch Friends together, and Phoebe’s winter wedding has always been the most touching scene for us,” Bingqing says of finding design inspiration in the most unlikely of places. “Her wedding was simple and intimate, but also warm and sweet.” The bride designed the stationery suite herself using a hand-drawn illustration of The Foundry’s interior, and her loose bouquet featured eucalyptus, white clematis and spray roses tied with raw silk ribbon. Bingqing wore three dresses throughout the night, including a traditional red cheongsam for the Chinese tea ceremony, an off-the-shoulder sheath and a red lace gown for dancing. Guests were treated to an American-Chinese fusion menu that called for sashimi, ribeye and apple pie à la mode. Lively reception music was a must for the jazz-loving duo, who danced to Frankie Valli’s classic “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
