An Intimate Wedding at the Bacchus Food & Drink Restaurant in Gulfport, Mississippi
After a seven year engagement, Malinda, 26, and Joel, 27, wanted a simple wedding. The couple had their reception and ceremony on a windy day at the Bacchus Food & Drink restaurant in Gulfport, Mississippi. Gold and white were chosen as their wedding colors. "I'm usually a bright and colorful person but I knew with gold there wouldn't really be any issue with color matching," says Malinda. The bride complemented her drop waist wedding dress with gold shoes and gold jewelry. She carried an all-white bouquet of peonies, roses and hydrangeas wrapped with tokens of her mother's memory. Their white and gold color scheme was also reflected in the couple's desert table, linens, invitation suite and wedding cake. The two-tier confection was covered in fondant and decorated with a gold rose detail as well as a white piped "C" to represent the couple's last name. During the reception, guests were included in another special moment for the couple - their baby's gender reveal. Being 18 weeks pregnant, Malinda had an ultrasound the Thursday before their wedding. Joel and Malinda wanted to surprise themselves. A family member gave the photo to their cake baker who died the inside of their wedding cake to match the gender. It was a boy! "It was such a great and exciting time for all of us!" says Malinda.
