An Intimate, Urban Elopement in Cincinnati, Ohio

Angela and Brittany’s relationship has spanned Cincinnati landmarks, from Holtman’s Donuts to the Roebling Bridge. For their day, the pair planned a tribute to the Queen City in Washington Park. Angela Ianniello (a program manager) and Brittany Green (a graduate student) are Cincy residents. Angela and Brittany tied the knot on June 2, 2018, in downtown Cincy’s Washington Park. “We love spending time there and love the energy,” Brittany says.
Angela and Brittany included a version of the handfasting ceremony and wrote vows to honor their commitment and shared faith. After the ceremony, everyone headed to Pies & Pints on The Banks. “Pizza is near and dear to us,” Brittany says. “Our wedding was a commitment to our community that our new family stands for something,” Angela says. Together, the couple pledged empathy and kindness as their guiding principles. “Because we chose only to invite those closest to us, all 25 of our guests were our wedding party,” Angela says.
A friend worked with her parents to bake and transport Angela and Brittany’s cake, flying it in from New York the night before the wedding. “Her parents surprised us by bringing the cake knife from their wedding for us to use,” Brittany says. The cake wasn't the only sweet treat that the couple indulged in on their special day. “We needed sugar before the ceremony, and Holtman’s [Donuts] is always a good idea,” Angela says.
