An Intimate Vintage Wedding at The Walton House in Homestead, Florida

Patricia Baro and Santiago Cantillo took a hands-on approach to personalizing their intimate, 60-guest outdoor wedding at a historical garden in the Florida Redlands. "As graphic designers, we naturally gravitate toward branding, so we were immediately inspired by the idea of having our guests feel as if we were telling them a story," the couple says. "We wanted them to feel as though they were taken back in time, and we knew that incorporating our antique items and personal touches would make it that much more special." Patricia and Santiago chose a color palette of burgundy, navy, emerald green, ivory and brassy gold tones to match the vintage theme. The ceremony took place in the property's lush gardens, and the bride's red bouquet popped against the greenery. Rustic DIY signage led guests to the other wedding festivities, including the cozy indoor reception. Patricia and Santiago incorporated plenty of personalized touches in their day "from the invitations to the thank-you cards," they say.  For example, the pair made hand-illustrated custom invitations, personalized menus, mismatched antique place settings and magazine-style wedding programs. A display of desserts, including mini cupcakes and a single-tier wedding cake ended the wedding on a sweet note.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "We decided to mail guests a note card to write their messages on instead of a guest book at the wedding," the couple says.
