An Intimate, Scottish Style Wedding at Historic St. Mary's City near Baltimore, Maryland

Christina Gonzalez (28 and a landscape architectural designer) and Iain McCallum (26 and a web developer) met at a mutual friend's party in Edinburgh, Scotland. Christina was studying in Edinburgh and Iain attended school nearby. Iain fibbed and told Christina he came by Edinburgh often just so he would have an excuse to see her again. Since Christina didn't have Facebook, Iain connected with her through LinkedIn, and so began a continual exchange of emails and occasional dates in Edinburgh. Iain proposed to Christina at the National Arboretum in Washington, DC. In the weeks leading up to the engagement, he had given Christina various gifts and food items in the shape of different letters. It was only as he was proposing with pictures of these gifts that Christina realized that those letters spelled out "Will you marry me?" The couple was married at Historic St. Mary's City off the St. Mary's River in Maryland. Their intimate wedding was full of Scottish flair and personal touches. These included tartan table linens, a paper crane chandelier, a porcelain dove cake topper,  and a fun "kissing menu" where guests were challenged to different tasks to get the newlyweds to kiss. Christina and Iain's beautiful wedding incorporated all the traditions and details that they cherish.
