An Intimate, Romantic Wedding at The River Café in Brooklyn New York
Erica Bianco (33 and an attorney) and Daniel Pritikin (34 and a music producer) met through mutual friends on the East Coast, but it wasn’t until they both lived in Los Angeles that the two decided to give a relationship a shot. “We bonded over a shared tendency to quote stupid comedies. We started out as friends and things grew from there,” says Erica. When it came to popping the question, Daniel kept things low-key, asking Erica to marry him over their morning cup of coffee. “He was going to do it at a restaurant that night, but I'm so glad it ended up being more intimate,” says Erica. For their wedding, the couple took a similar low-key and intimate approach, opting for a gathering of their closest family and friends at The River Cafe in Brooklyn. “After just looking at the view online I was sold. It was a classic and romantic spot, which was just what I was going for,” says Erica. “It also has a Michelin Star for the food and we both love to eat!” Not to mention the site offered breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. While the setting itself stunning on its own, the couple added a few touches to really bring the waterfront venue to life. Using seasonal blooms, Violet and Verde created striking pink, burgundy arrangements in low, bowl-shaped vases, which added an undeniably romantic and vibrant touch to the d?cor. A vintage yellow cab motif was incorporated throughout the day as a nod to the wedding’s locale. Yellow cab escort cards lead guests to their seats, favors were wrapped in cab-inspired paper and the couple even hopped around town in a vintage cab for their photos. Other New York elements included an illustration of the Manhattan skyline for guests to sign and table names after the city’s sports team and landmarks. Since Daniel works in the music industry, finding the right band to really kickstart the party was important to the couple. The Eric Nicholas Band played during the ceremony and cocktail hour and kept guests out on the dance floor all night long. Before putting on their dancing shoes, guests enjoyed a selection of inspired appetizers and a decadent four-course meal, which included pasta, fish, meat and finally dessert. “I splurged so everyone could have cake plus a chocolate Brooklyn Bridge dessert — a River Cafe signature!” says Erica.
