An Intimate Park Wedding at White Point Gardens Gazebo in Downtown Charleston, South Carolina

Caroline Field (33 and a student services representative) and Wilson Hanna (35 and a boat captain) met through mutual friends in 2012. As a boat captain, Wilson worked in the Gulf of Mexico for 28 days at a time, so he and Caroline started to bond over the phone. For one of their first dates, Caroline traveled down to Louisiana and met him in New Orleans when he got off of work. After ten months of dating, they moved in together. Two years later, Wilson proposed during their morning coffee with a Neil Lane bridal set, a marquis cut diamond with a filigree band. Living in Charleston, South Carolina, Caroline and Wilson wanted to have their wedding at one of the most picturesque settings in the area, White Point Gardens Gazebo in Downtown Charleston. Being a city property, it made reserving the space easier and kept their budget down. The gazebo allowed for an intimate atmosphere with their closest friends and family present. Caroline brought fall inspired colors to the wedding through the floral arrangements and reception decor. Caroline and Wilson took their guests on a boat cruise through the Charleston Harbor for their reception, serving a made-to-order dinner course and wedding cake from Publix Bakery onboard. "We just wanted to include our families and closest friends, and we felt that since it was so small and comfortable and informal feeling, people were able to enjoy themselves," says Caroline.
