An Intimate Mountain Wedding at a Private Residence in Murrieta, California
Breathtaking plateau views surrounded this private home in Murrieta, California, creating a calm setting for this elegant, intimate wedding. Caitlin Mulligan (25 and in sales) and Bobby Ankony (31 and an engineer) invited 40 of their closest friends and family to take part in the laid-back nuptials. "We knew we wanted something simple, outdoors and beautiful," Caitlin says. "I didn’t want an extravagant wedding. I just wanted to celebrate our marriage with a few good drinks and the people we love." Outside at the ceremony, Caitlin and Bobby stood at the wooden pergola where guests watched from wooden benches, with the Santa Rosa Plateau hilly landscape serving as a natural backdrop. The festivities continued on the wraparound deck, where everyone found their seats at long wooden dining tables decorated with wildflowers and candelabras. Our favorite detail had to be the vibrant pops of color coming from the day's flower arrangements—from the rose and lavender bridal bouquet, to the grass centerpieces with succulents, lavender and tiger lilies on top—captured on camera by Nicole Marie Photography. "We kept the details simple; the bouquet was made from roses and lavender picked from gardens on the property," Caitlin says. "The owner even made the boutonniere from succulents she had on hand."
