An Intimate, Greenhouse Wedding at Purple Martin Outpost in Tallahassee, Florida

Dog lovers Katie Shade (30 and a mental health counselor) and Buck Dickinson (35 and a project manager) filled their greenhouse venue with navy accent

Dog lovers Katie Shade (30 and a mental health counselor) and Buck Dickinson (35 and a project manager) filled their greenhouse venue with navy accents and odes to their precious pups. “A major benefit of a greenhouse is the ambience is already in place with lush greenery, beautiful flowers, a stone fountain and breathtaking arch to frame the ceremony,” Katie says.

Located just a mile from their home, Katie and Buck chose the airy nursery due to its pet-friendly nature. “We used to take our dogs on frequent walks to the outpost, so we thought it was a great idea to use the space for our wedding,” Katie says. During the ceremony, Katie’s sister read a poem entitled “Falling in Love Is Like Owning a Dog.”

Hues of navy popped on everything from the wedding invitation envelope liner to the flower girl dresses. Bridesmaids wore matching, floor-length gowns, while Buck and his groomsmen donned navy blazers paired with seafoam-green ties. Foraged branches and berries from the property augmented the season.
