An Intimate Gold Wedding at Zingerman's Events on Fourth in Ann Arbor, Michigan
Now this is how you do a winter wedding. While planning their Ann Arbor, Michigan, nuptials, Indiana-based couple Lyndsay Hoban (28 and in brand marketing) and Drew Loomer (27 and a web developer) put a new spin on standard cold-weather color schemes (think blue and white) by using a mint green and gold palette. "We just wanted the decor to feel winter appropriate without looking too holiday," Lyndsay says of their intimate wedding. Dressed in a custom, long-sleeve wedding dress and chic blue pumps, the bride and her groom exchanged vows against a string-light backdrop at Ann Arbor's famed Zingerman's Events on Fourth. "We picked the space for its size, location and charm," Lyndsay says of their romantic-meets-modern aesthetic. "When a space is that beautiful, you don't need a lot of decor." Gold sequined chair covers and table runners added just the right amount of shimmer, while lush green and white flower arrangements from Passionflower popped against each tablescape. One simple DIY detail we especially loved: clear glass candleholders repurposed from old wine bottles. "We tried to make the entire weekend feel low-key," Lyndsay says of their small but chic celebration. Guests even sipped on rye whiskey and Dr Pepper during the couple's cocktail hour before sitting down to a comfort-food-filled dinner that served as a nod to Lyndsay's Southern upbringing. And that cake? The staff at Zingerman's Bakehouse created a sweet, multiflavor confection based on a wedding cake Lyndsay found on Pinterest. The bride's out-of-town guests even got a surprise after traveling all the way from Atlanta. "For favors, we had extra HotHands on site in personalized bags for each of them," Lyndsay says. "I wasn't sure how they'd handle Michigan in January!"
