An Intimate Fall Wedding at The Mackey House in Savannah, Georgia

Laura Darby (32 and an office manager) and Daniel O'Toole (25 and in RGA and warranty) were just acquaintances for years before they realized how much they had in common. They dated long distance for two years while Daniel finished college before he popped the question on a Sunday morning while Laura was still in pajamas. "He called me into the other room while I was watching a movie and got down on one knee right there—it was perfect!" says Laura. "We're both laid back, casual people so I was glad it was just us and not a big scene." The following year the couple invited guests to a Savannah destination wedding since it was a middle point for out-of-town guests. "We chose The Mackey House pretty much as soon as we stepped out of the car," says Laura. "They are on top of everything, made me feel completely at ease and were extremely accommodating—something very necessary for a bride planning from hundreds of miles away!" For their classy southern affair, the couple used a blue and gray color palette as well as clusters of white hydrangeas.  The newlyweds went on a European cruise for their honeymoon, so they wanted their wedding menu to reflect those different cuisines. "We had something to represent each country we were visiting; France, Spain, and Italy!" says Laura. "It started out as a wedding, but ended up feeling like a big party," says Laura. "The reception was on the back porch of this wonderful southern plantation house and everyone was just having a blast."
