An Intimate, Fall Wedding at Fieldstone Farm in Hillsboro, Virginia
Rachel Page (24, server) and Kyle Hammond (25, hygienist inspector) met through a mutual friend. Kyle says that he knew immediately that she would be the one. They started dating a few months after meeting and it wasn't long after that they moved in together. Kyle proposed to Rachel on top of a cliff at the Great Falls National Park, where the couple often hikes. They were married in Rachel's historic hometown of Hillsboro, Virginia, at Fieldstone Farm. Rachel and Kyle's rustic fall wedding was almost completely DIY, with simple floral arrangements of purple and red calla lilies, baby's breath, hydrangeas and daisies and homemade favors of soap and local honey. Wedding fashions included floor length, eggplant purple bridesmaid dresses, a gray suit and purple tie for the groom and a vintage style Maggie Sottero wedding dress for Rachel. Their ceremony was held outdoors at the top of a staircase, with guests seated in the patio at the bottom of the staircase. The cocktail hour took place outside the farmhouse, with the following reception indoors. Highlights at the reception included the delicious dessert table with six dozen cupcakes in different flavors and naked cakes with chocolate, peanut butter and berry glaze. This lovely wedding was warm and intimate in fall colors and pretty DIY details.
