An Intimate DIY Bed and Breakfast Wedding at the Mansion Inn in Saratoga Springs, New York
A charming bed and breakfast in Saratoga Springs, New York, was filled with original and creative DIY decor, courtesy of Carter Gertzog (31 and an onboarding specialist at a real estate tech start-up) and Jo Longobardo (30 and an industrial designer at a chandelier company). The couple arranged all the eucalyptus-based floral arrangements used during their lush indoor wedding at the Mansion Inn. Using exhaustive research and an eye for cost cutting, the couple created hundreds of paper peonies to pair with smaller florals and eucalyptus. "Jo had this vision of filling the whole inn with an abundance of greenery and flowers—kind of like bringing the outdoors indoors," Carter says. "We ordered a ton of eucalyptus in seven varieties, which made everything smell amazing but not overwhelmingly so." The couple used the whole inn for their ceremony, which took place by the fireplace in one of the building's front rooms; first dance, held in the foyer; and reception, where guests danced throughout the whole house. Much of the wedding party and guests were able to spend the night on-site and continue the party until late in the evening. —Allie Volpe
