An Intimate Destination Wedding at Palazzo Murat in Positano, Campania, Italy

What better time to visit swoon-worthy destinations than for a wedding? Kate Addy (28 and a dietitian) and Mark Ellis (30 and an aircraft engineer) decided to have a destination wedding at Palazzo Murat in Positano, Campania, Italy. “Neither of us have Italian heritage, nor had we been to Positano before,” Kate says. “We both wanted a small wedding and happened to be planning a holiday to Italy when Mark proposed. Positano was on our must-visit list and a YouTube wedding video of the cliff-side town hall confirmed our dream destination.” Since they were planning the wedding from their home in Australia, they didn’t have a lot of control over the styling of the day. Kate sent images of bouquets she liked to a local florist, who then beautifully arranged her dahlia, bill ball, scabiosa and rose bouquet in shades of pink, ivory and yellow. The gorgeous color palette perfectly complemented the stunning mountain and waterfront hotel venue. “Our wedding dinner was held outdoors in the grounds of the hotel, Palazzo Murat, with the cliffs of Positano alight and twinkling around us,” Kate says. “The food was amazing and service fantastic. We were treated to some live street music as buskers entertained crowds on the other side of the hotel walls.” One of our favorite parts of the wedding was the romantic walk down the steps of Positano after the ceremony. “We invited our family and friends to make the trek down the steps of Positano with us after the wedding ceremony,” Kate says. “It was hot and the humidity high but an experience we will never forget, and I dare say neither will many of our guests!” See all of our favorite details, beautifully captured by Duepunti Wedding Photography, below!
