An Intimate Destination Wedding at Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Puerto Morelos, Mexico
Heather Brown (32 and an athletic trainer) and PJ Brown (31 and a territory sales representative) met in Knoxville, Tennessee. One year, around Christmas time, PJ fell extremely ill, and the couple spent multiple weeks worried about what each day would bring. As an expression of gratitude and love, a weakened PJ surprised Heather by getting down on one knee and pulled out a diamond solitaire ring. They chose to have their wedding at Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. “Mexico has a special place in our hearts, as we love to travel,” says Heather. Since their family and friends would all be traveling, they decided to have an intimate destination wedding to make their wedding a vacation for their loved ones. They incorporated a tropical, bright color palette with purple and orange to pop against the natural backdrop of the palm trees and blue water. According to the bride: “We wrote the entire dialogue for our ceremony, including our vows, which made it really personalized and intimate. We chose my best friend to be our officiant and included our parents into our ring warming ceremony, as they have been married over 70 years combined and are our inspiration for a good marriage.” As favors, the couple gave their guests colorful maracas for a Mexican memento. “What was most special for us was having the whole week to relax, have our loved ones get to know each other and have fun,” says the bride. “Everyone from all aspects of our lives became one big family from spending that special time together.” See the details of their tropical destination wedding captured by Juicebeats Photography below.
