An Intimate, Coastal Wedding in Sorrento, Maine
Michael Wilson (29, a PhD student) and Jenny Fauth (31, an affordable housing consultant) met working on a group project in graduate school. Although a year went by between their first and second dates (timing is everything!), their second date was quickly followed by a third and fourth, and within a week they were practically living together. After three years together, Mike proposed a few weeks after Hurricane Sandy in Brooklyn Bridge Park. "The electrical system had been destroyed, so the park closed at dusk, but somehow Mike convinced the crew to let us slip in so we could enjoy the views of the Manhattan skyline alone!" recalls Jenny. When it came time to celebrate their wedding, the couple headed to the tiny town of Sorrento on the coast of Maine, where Jenny and her family have been vacationing since she was a child. After an intimate ceremony in a historic chapel in the woods, Jenny, Mike and their guests made their way to the town green for a tented reception filled with tons of local flavor… and lobster rolls!
