An Intimate Beach Microwedding in Palomino, Colombia, Officiated by the Wedding Guests
Diana and Rafael chose an intimate beach wedding in Palomino, Colombia, to celebrate their love story, which began with a movie-worthy first kiss in an elevator. "Diana and Rafa met at work but it was a first kiss in an elevator that really triggered this story. After some comings and goings, it was a surprise visit that decided their future. Rafa flew to Southeast Asia to surprise Diana, who was there trying to find answers. And there, thousands of miles from home, came her answer, more in love and willing than ever. Since that moment they have been inseparable," says their photographer. When it came to planning their wedding day as the culmination of their love story, Diana and Rafael wanted a relaxed, natural scene. "We invited only very close family, we were 15," says Rafael. "We all were barefoot on the beach and made the wedding about the 4 natural elements and love as a 5th."
To start their new life off unified, Diana and Rafael chose to process into the ceremony together. Then, for the ceremony itself, they kept the focus on family and love, asking multiple family members to participate in the ceremony. "We didn´t use a priest so it was just the two of us at the altar and we had family members come and dedicate some words for us inspired by the 5 elements." Following the ceremony, the couple had "a photoshoot and then some games about us as a couple. We gathered and laughed about some questions that gave up some of our secrets. Then we had dinner and a little dancing." Looking back on the day, the couple encourages current to-be-weds to "make your wedding special for yourselves, don´t worry about giving your guests a good time. Make it about your love. Everybody will enjoy it more."
