An Intimate, Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Courtney Couch (31 and a teacher) and Charles Winstead (41 and a business owner) met through family. Courtney says that she knew immediately that he was the one. After years of dating, Charles asked for Courtney's hand in marriage. The couple had a summer wedding at Charles' parents' backyard in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Their simply decorated wedding was casual and intimate. Starfish lined the aisle at the outdoor ceremony and filled decorative lanterns at the reception. Two blue starfish also posed as the bride and groom figurines beside the red velvet cupcakes that Courtney and Charles served as dessert instead of a wedding cake. The wedding was a family affair, with Charles' father and his friends providing the music for the ceremony, Courtney's sisters as her bridesmaids and Charles' brothers as the groomsmen. The wedding party dressed casually, with the groomsmen in khaki shorts and the bridesmaids in floor length aqua dresses with halter necklines. Charles looked handsome in a khaki suit while Courtney looked stunning in a princess ball gown with beautiful beading and an illusion back. The tented reception was in full swing with local band Another Level providing the tunes when a thunderstorm hit. Instead of shutting the party down, the newlyweds and their guests partied on, and guests enjoyed dancing in the rain and mud. Courtney and Charles' airy wedding was beautiful and tons of fun!
