An Intimate, Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Moscow, Pennsylvania
Kim Scritchfield (49 and a library circulation manager) and Chuck Stenlake (50 and a small business owner) met online. They met plans to meet but Kim got lost on the way, so on their second date, Chuck gifted her a GPS. She was nervous to accept such an expensive gift since they had just met, but Chuck said if they ever broke up, she could give it back to him. "We'd been together two years when Chuck surprised me by asking me to marry him and I've still got the GPS mounted on my dashboard," Kim says. Since this was a second marriage for both of them, Kim and Chuck decided to have an intimate backyard wedding with their families at their farm in Moscow, Pennsylvania. Their rustic, DIY wedding was held on the Fourth of July. Kim and Chuck's loved ones sat on bales of hay as they watched the couple exchange vows of love and commitment under a willow tree by the barn. Centerpieces of wildflowers in glass bottles provided pops of color at the all white tented reception. Guests wrote words of love and advice in a burlap and lace guest book and feasted on a wedding cake that resembled a birch tree. Kim and Chuck's intimate, backyard wedding reflected their love and devotion on this happy occasion.
