An Interfaith Wedding in Denver, CO

The First Dance
The couple wore the customary red clothing for the Hindu ceremony. Emily’s wedding lehenga had intricate and delicate beadwork.
The traditional mehndi ceremony, where the bride’s henna is applied for the wedding, was held at Amit’s parents’ home.
Vibrant Table Decor
The shoes Emily wore for the Catholic service (a pair of Badgley Mischka peep toes) were her “something blue.”
For the Catholic ceremony, Emily carried roses and lilies in varying shades from soft pink and lavender to vibrant red.
The cake decoration was inspired by the traditional mehndi tattoos that a Hindu bride wears for her wedding. The topper was the couple’s wedding logo— two elephants with intertwined trunks above a flamenco dancer— rendered in white chocolate.
A combination of round and square tables, mirrored table runners and lots of candles created a festive and inviting atmosphere at the reception.
The Catholic Ceremony
The couple loves games (Scrabble in particular), so Amit proposed to Emily with this beautiful ring by spelling out, “Will you marry me” in Scrabble tiles.
A traditional Hindu ceremony is made up of several smaller celebrations, including the baraat, the groom’s procession on an elephant.
Personalized Gobo Lighting
Our wedding was a fusion of two heritages, Latin and Indian,” Emily explains. “We tried to focus on the fusion through our food, drink, music, colors and logo, she says. Candlelight and a color palette of deep reds, vibrant purples and lime green helped convey the theme.
