An Industrial Winter Wedding at Salvage One in Chicago, Illinois
Geneva and Anne Wahl had a cozy winter wedding full of moody and deep tones, unique flower arrangements and antique-gold elements. Their venue, Salvage One in Chicago, doubles as an antique store during the day, decorated with plenty of industrial accents. "We walked down the aisle along antique wood church pews, glittering chandeliers and Greek columns that framed the ceremony space," the couple says. Black candles in antique-gold lanterns and winter greenery lined the aisle. The bridesmaids stood near altar—the women on one side wore black suits, and others wore muted blue-gray gowns. The brides also dressed in unique, fashion-forward outfits. Anne wore a cream-colored jacket and pants, blue and white pinstripe button-down shirt, navy-blue tie and dark navy oxfords. Geneva went with a silky, cream-colored, formfitting slip dress with a lace cape, navy-blue heels and bold red lipstick. The guests were asked to dress in black to emphasize the brides in white. The reception was held on the second floor of the venue, featuring vintage tables and chairs, stained-glass artwork and exposed brick walls. A customized neon sign that read "Love is Love" hung in the space, reminding everyone that there are no restrictions on love. "We are not dessert people, so our wedding cake consisted of cheese wheels decorated with fresh herbs and figs. And for our guests, we had an ice cream sundae bar with all the fixings," the couple says. Anne and Geneva also embraced a blizzard that happened on their wedding day, using the beautiful white background for photo ops.
