An Industrial Wedding at The Caramel Room at Bissinger's in St. Louis, Missouri
Katherine Young and Kayley Withers’s plum-and-green celebration brimmed with personality. At their rooftop “I dos,” Katherine’s brothers carried a sign reading, “Here Come the Brides,” then the couple wed under a copper arch. The brides’ matching touch was a pair of glittery Keds, and their favorite blooms filled their bouquets: Kayley’s included succulents, while Katherine’s featured calla lilies. The phrase “whimsical garden” inspired Katherine and Kayley’s décor, paper goods and color palette of plum, green and gold. Their favorite item was the custom ceremony program, a lighthearted illustration of the bridal party. “We wanted the style of the wedding to match our playful personalities,” Kayley says. Calligraphed marble tiles marked places, while lyrics from The Proclaimers’s hit song reserved the brides’ seats. A swing at the venue suspended the herbed blueberry and lemon semi-naked cake. The night ended with pizza and a hotel room hangout with their bridesmaids.
