An Industrial Wedding at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, New York
Cherry blossoms, potted blooms and botanical accents were on display at Meredith Haupt (30 and an operations director) and Jason Slutsky’s (33 and a lawyer) Pioneer Works wedding in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood. “We looked for a unique New York venue that was able to accommodate a large number of friends and family while still feeling intimate,” Meredith says. The pair had a traditional Jewish ceremony before gathering with 200 guests around outdoor fire pits and indulging in baja fish tacos, local beers and spicy tequila cocktails. Troughs of tulips and daffodils made for modern, spring-inspired centerpieces, and dining tables were lined with matte black china, glass hurricane vases and punchy black-and-white striped linens. Garlands hung from the ceiling, freshening up the industrial space. Meredith traded in her belted ivory crepe sheath for an asymmetrical metallic gown before the reception—a look she calls “fun, comfortable and perfect for dancing.” Her favorite cheesecake was served for dessert, while a pizza truck fueled partygoers with late-night pies.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: Meredith’s bouquet was tied off with ribbon borrowed from her mother’s wedding headpiece.
