An Industrial-Chic Wedding at The Lofts at Union Square in High Point, North Carolina
Sarah Conrad (21 and in jewelry sales) and James Wheeler (20 and in property management) immediately hit off after meeting through mutual friends. Sarah knew she was going to marry James after their first date and he proposed exactly a year later. "He popped by reenacting our first date—he took me out to a nice dinner and then we went to the tallest parking deck downtown and danced," says Sarah. "It was so romantic with all of the city lights and after the dance, an audio recording of our closest friends and family came on filled with blessings over our relationship. The last person to speak was my dad giving his blessing for James and I to get married!" The couple planned an industrial-chic affair at The Lofts at Union Square in High Point, North Carolina with a pale pink and gray color palette. Sarah and James fell in love with their venue's urban warehouse aesthetic—especially the concrete pillars and long rows of windows—and enhanced the urban feel with minimal decor. "I really appreciated the aesthetics of the Lofts, so I went with a pale color palette so that nothing would take away from the venue's beauty," says Sarah. "The space was incredible and I almost had too much space to work with because of its size!" The highlight of the evening: James rode into the reception on a longboard, carrying Sarah in his arms!"
