An Industrial, Bohemian Wedding at Leftbank Annex in Portland, Oregon
Theresa Mills-Price and David McGrew’s spring wedding combined loose, textured florals; natural accents; and sleek urban elements for an industrial-meets-bohemian feel. The pair brought the beauty of the outdoors in with a spring-inspired color palette of white, green and blush, plus floating floral installations that gave the lofty historic spot a garden-like quality. The ceremony, which was performed by the couple’s close friend, took place under a suspended arbor made of fresh greenery and cherry blossoms and strands of bistro lights. After Theresa and David said their vows, the room was transformed for the reception with long farm tables and warm candlelight that created the feel of a family-style meal. Each place setting was dressed up with a hand-lettered place card and gilded cutlery for an elegant vibe, while acrylic table numbers and an ombré seating chart mirrored the venue’s modern, urban aesthetic. When planning the layout of the event, the couple made sure to leave plenty of room for a doughnut bar, which they piled high with eclairs, crullers and powdered-sugar doughnut holes. Theresa and David are both big Portland Trail Blazer fans and decided to broadcast the team’s first playoff game during the reception. “Some great advice I received was to take your time planning,” Theresa says. We planned our wedding 16 months out. It was amazing—we felt prepared, not rushed, and we were able to think on big decisions.”
