Brooke and Christopher met on a blind date! Chris’ best friend spotted Brooke, tracked down her business card and set up the two. Their first date at the Millennium Hotel went perfectly and the pair were soon inseparable. The Bride Brooke Johnson, 27, a writer The Groom Christopher Griffin, 33, an attorney The Date January 17 Just over a year-and-a-half later, Chris picked up Brooke from the airport after a business trip and drove her back to the spot where they’d had their first date. At the hotel entrance in front of a busy street full of onlooking people, Chris dropped to one knee and asked Brooke to marry him. Eight months later, the couple celebrated their formal white-and-navy winter wedding at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza in downtown Cincy.

The tables were spotlighted, and the ceiling was lit in a deep-blue hue to complement the winter season and establish an intimate vibe.
A custom monogram in blue and brown set a formal tone for the event.
Brooke carried a classic bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas accented with Swarovski crystals and wrapped in white ribbon edged with crystal drops.
The escort cards were printed on the same shimmery paper as the invites. The couple’s monogram and a crystal accent dressed them up.
All nine of Brooke’s bridesmaids wore platinum chiffon dresses by Badgley Mischka. White fur wraps and crystal brooches added to their wintry style.
Cookie Wedding Favors
Swarovski crystal bands and white roses and crystal drops decorated the cake. To give the dessert its own spotlight, the table was adorned with crystals and lit with faux candles.
Brooke wanted a classic winter wonderland reception. Using white and midnight-blue accents with plenty of sparkly Swarovski crystals, she and her sister (who’s a wedding planner) pulled it off.
“The band made the reception,” says the bride. She and Chris hired an 8-piece R&B and soul band and choreographed their first dance to Etta James’ “At Last.”
