An Glam, Backyard Wedding at a Private Home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Alexis Maddox (33 and a wedding and event planner) and Will Allen (34 and a former NFL player and entrepreneur) planned an intimate fete at their new house, borrowing elements from their home’s design. “I was inspired by its tan brick, blush trim, rose gold house number and stone landscaping,” Alexis says.

Alexis opted for a two-piece blush gown with a high-low pink taffeta skirt that showcased her sequined shoes. Will picked out his gray duds just two hours before their “I dos.” “Will is a ‘fashionisto’ at heart, so he has a closet full of custom suits,” Alexis says. “He owned that suit for years, but never wore it until our wedding day.”

“Our ceremony was about the blessing of our union and our new house,” Alexis says of exchanging vows at home in front of just 60 guests.

Tufted furniture and sequined throw pillows transformed the couple’s backyard into a posh lounge.

Instead of a classic cake, Alexis and Will opted for a rose gold dessert spread that included glitter-dusted doughnuts, tiramisu “dessertinis,” mini champagne cakes and hand-painted macarons. Even the signature cocktails were rose gold in hue: a cucumber gimlet for him and a French martini for her.

The alfresco reception took place on the lawn, where tables were topped with textured rosette linens, stone-colored cloths and rose gold flatware. In addition to a monogrammed dinner napkin, each place setting was marked with a single glass of sparkling rosé wine, tying the entire design together.
