An Enchanted Elegant Wedding at Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC

When it came time for Caroline Cubbison (24 and a medical student) and Teodoro Armenteros (36 and an engineer) to plan their wedding, they looked well past the shores of their Dominican Republic home – 1,500 miles in fact. hey settled on Washington, DC, because it's where Caroline's father lives and it was an easy destination for their globe-trotting guests as well. Bonus: It also meant they could avoid the traditional Dominican wedding of 600-plus guests! With the help of a US-based planner and a muted palette of gray, cream and blush, the couple transformed their grand indoor venue into an enchanted garden for their intimate evening. "We wanted the gallery to feel like an overgrown abandoned mansion that was recently discovered," Caroline says.
