An Emerald-and-Pink Romantic, Industrial Wedding at Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City, Maryland

For their wedding at Main Street Ballroom outside Baltimore in Ellicott City, Maryland, JaQuelia and Shane settled on a romantic aesthetic with an industrial-meets-rustic undertone. The celebration was filled with a pink-and-emerald color palette and velvet decor accents. “Our wedding was a dream,” recalls JaQuelia. “I fell in love with the industrial feel of Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City, Maryland. I especially loved the brick walls and the amenities. I wanted an industrial-meets-rustic feel to our wedding but I also wanted it to still have an elegant touch. Our color palette was emerald green, rose, sage and gold.

“The florals were beautiful. I love pampas grass so we had to add that to the ceremony arch. The flower arrangements played a huge part of the overall style of the wedding,” shared JaQuelia. “For the reception, we wanted a mixture of farm tables and round tables with gold-plated chairs. The decor for the farm tables had blush, gold or ivory runners with emerald votives. For our sweetheart table, we wanted a farm table as well with a bunch of flowers and greenery. We had greenery everywhere including the sign and the dessert table.” To complement the rustic flowers and farm table, the couple commissioned a custom neon sign of their last name that shone brightly in the reception space.

To ensure their wedding felt uniquely their own, the couple found a number of ways, beyond their neon sign, to bring personalization into the Maryland wedding day. To start, JaQuelia did not one, but two first looks. “One with my dad and one with Shane,” she explains. JaQuelia goes on to note that the couple “had our signature drinks named after our two dogs, Loki and Storm since they couldn't attend the wedding. We wanted them to be a part of our special day.” Lastly, JaQuelia’s father’s toast at the reception was an especially memorable part of the wedding. “Two years ago while planning the wedding, I challenged my dad to say his speech during the reception in Italian since he was teaching himself that language,” explains JaQuelia. My father did his speech during the reception in full Italian with a translator.”
