An Elopement at Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Texas

Sarah Davis (22 and a designer at EvergreenandWillow on Etsy) and Evan Hopkins (23 and in the Air Force, active duty) knew each other through the youth group at their church. Sarah fell for Evan when she was 16, and he fell for her several years later. When he moved to San Antonio, Texas to train for a job with the Air Force, Sarah traveled from Ohio to visit him often. On a sweet couple’s getaway in Fredericksburg, Texas, Evan took Sarah to Enchanted Rock, a mountain-like rock formation with beautiful views of the landscape. Evan told Sarah that when he had gone there for training, even when he was carrying a rucksack and doing brutal calisthenics on the challenging climb, he noticed how beautiful the landscape was and thought of her. He then asked Sarah to marry him. The couple wanted to marry as soon as they could, and Evan was at a point in his training where he couldn’t leave to travel to Ohio, which did not allow for a big wedding. They planned for June, but when Evan’s orders got moved up, they eloped in May to the Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock. Even though the couple couldn’t have the big wedding they wanted, they still made the experience meaningful. Sarah wore her dream lace, mermaid style wedding dress with flowers in her hair and Evan wore his Air Force dress blues. The officiant wrote and performed a song for the ceremony under a tree in the courtyard, and videographers captured the vows for family and friends that could not be with the couple on their special day. “The raw beauty of our surroundings was astounding and perfectly matched who we are as a couple,” says Sarah.
