An Elegant Woodland Wedding at Ohana Family Camp in Fairlee, Vermont

Drawing inspiration from the natural appeal of Vermont’s countryside, Claire Skrivanos (29 and a math teacher) and Elizabeth (Lib) Tietjen (29 and a marketing and communications manager) filled their casual woodland fete with copper accents, fresh herbs, overgrown garlands and spicy maple popcorn favors. Though Lib originally suggested a summer camp venue as a joke, it became clear that a campground was the ideal site for a relaxing weekend in the woods. “We wanted a venue that was within driving distance of New York City, and we wanted to be able to spend quality time with our family,” Lib says. Mirroring the day’s carefree vibe, Claire opted for a bohemian A-line gown, while Lib went for a breezy jumpsuit. The couple chose an acoustic version of Beyoncé’s “Halo” for their joint walk down the aisle. “I started crying when I heard the opening chords,” Lib says. “We walked down the aisle at the same time because we wanted to show that were entering into marriage together—hand in hand, always.” Before heading indoors for dinner, guests sipped cucumber basil gin cocktails on the lawn looking out at the lake. For the reception, the brides put a sleek, modern twist on the lodge’s rustic interiors with bundles of classic white blooms styled alongside copper lanterns and mercury glass vases.
