An Elegant Wedding with Old World Flair at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Missouri

Oklahoma-based couple, Morgan McGrew (26 and a certified public accountant) and Eric Biggers (25 and a certified public accountant) let the breathtaking view and the lodge’s natural beauty inspire their classic nuptials.

The couple wed in a traditional Christian ceremony just steps away from where Eric proposed 10 months prior. To complement the venue’s chapel, and to not distract from its warm wood interior and Gothic-style windows, the bridesmaids wore classic, long, black gowns.

Postceremony, the newlyweds and 100 guests celebrated in the lodge’s wine cellar, where corks served as escort cards and wine bottles doubled as table numbers. Each tablescape also included striking gold flatware on matte black linens and tall candelabras crowned with puffs of white hydrangeas.

During summer sunsets, a bagpipe player performs at the lodge before a cannon is fired near the on-site chapel. “Our guests were able to watch the cannon shoot off!” Morgan says. “It was a fun surprise for everyone and a great way to wrap up our cocktail hour.”
