An Elegant Wedding at Capital Park Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia
Even though it was the roommate of Samantha (27 and a teacher) who invited Jamil (34 and in business finance) to their apartment Christmas party, the pair chatted throughout the night. It didn't take long for them to hit it off, and after more than a year of planning, the couple hosted a downtown Atlanta celebration at Capital Park Hotel. The only pop of color during Samantha and Jamil's all-white ceremony came from the pink center of their contemporary orchid aisle markers. As a bold contrast to the crisp ceremony, a vibrant purple reception followed the meaningful vows. "Most brides like to plan every part of their wedding, but I was the complete opposite," says Samantha. "My favorite saying throughout the wedding planning was 'I just want to show up,' and I was fortunate to have a great wedding planner who took my two inspiration words -- traditional and elegant -- and made magic." From the purple linens to the whimsical purple heart piping on their three-tiered cake, Samantha and Jamil's celebration was filled with color -- and laughter. "Playing the shoe game during our reception was a great way for guests to see a little peek into our true lives," says Samantha. "And even though we gave guests candy favors, I think everyone's favorite part was when we smashed cake into each other's faces."
