An Elegant, Vintage Wedding at a Private Club in New Orleans, Louisiana

Katherine Hunter (27 and a school psychologist) and Jeff Chenier ( 28 and a school psychologist) met while in graduate school at Louisiana State University and bonded over their love for the New Orleans Saints. After going to a game and realizing the chemistry between them, they began spending more time together and their relationship took off. On their two year anniversary, Katherine and Jeff had room reservations at the Columns Hotel, a place they always wanted to stay. As they were about to go to dinner, Jeff got down on one knee and proposed. Immediately after, Jeff surprised Katherine again with their parents waiting to celebrate at the restaurant. They chose to get married at a private club in New Orleans, LA. "It's a beautiful, gracious Antebellum home with wooden floors, high ceilings, crystal chandeliers and antique furniture and decorations," Katherine says. With the club's antique elements, very little added decor was needed. The style of the wedding was inspired by Katherine's silk wedding dress and the club's environment. The color palette was ivory, gold and silver and the style was elegant with vintage touches. Flower arrangements were made with peonies, roses, hydrangea and dusty miller. "It was really important to us to keep the entire day authentic so all of the choices we made reflected our interests and us as a couple," Katherine says. From their decision to have a first look to their decision not to have a bouquet toss, and everything in between, Katherine and Jeff were sure to keep their wedding one unique to their own preferences.
