An Elegant, Vintage-Autumnal Wedding at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut
Stacey and Michael planned a rustic-chic affair with an autumnal twist for their mid-October wedding at Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut. With the help of KLW Design, the pair transformed the waterfront boathouse into an elegant and enchanting backdrop with a palette of soft neutrals and rich seasonal hues, an abundance of seasonal blooms and crystal chandeliers. The evening began with an intimate tented ceremony overlooking the water. The couple provided their guests with pashminas to keep warm and decorated the outdoor space with warm candlelight, eucalyptus and floral garlands and vintage accents to create a whimsical, romantic vibe. The newlyweds made their exit via horse-drawn carriage and headed to Mystic Seaport’s open-air boathouse, where they enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing with their closest family members and friends. Airy fabrics helped to soften the rustic feel of the space, while pastel hues and garden-inspired floral arrangements displayed in vintage silver teapots—each one different—introduced an air of old-world elegance to the room. A mix of bistro lights, chandeliers and flickering candles cast a warm, inviting glow over the room, while marquee lights and antique furnishings offered the decor an unexpected note of industrial-meets-classic appeal. Stacey and Michael made sure that no detail was overlooked and created a photo backdrop for the reception, complete with vintage doors and opulent floral arrangements. A live band kept the dance floor packed until the last song, when guests sent the newlyweds off in a tunnel of festive sparklers.
