An Elegant, Traditional Wedding at the Scranton Cultural Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania
Amanda DiPietro (34 and a teacher) and Brian Yearing (36 and in sales) were introduced through a mutual friend, but they didn't develop a romantic relationship until two years after they met. After dating for a little while, Brian proposed on a trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he set up ?a candlelight dinner on the beach for an incredibly romantic engagement. Following a traditional church ceremony, Brian and Amanda held a reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Scranton Cultural Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Since they threw and October wedding, Amanda wanted to incorporate fall colors into her decor and flower arrangements, with red, purple, and orange bouquets that contrasted the wedding party's black and white formal attire. The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, while the bridesmaids dressed in short, black, A-line dresses and fall-colored shawls. Amanda decided on a lace Maggie Sottero wedding dress with a trumpet silhouette and sheer straps, which she paired with a fingertip-length veil, shimmery white pumps, and pearl jewelry. The reception featured a variety of elegant centerpieces, including lanterns, votive candles and candlesticks, and tall arrangements of twisting branches in clear glass vases. Amanda and Brian chose crisp white stationary for their invitations, escort cards, and menus, which all featured a custom wedding monogram that was replicated in the lighting and cake topper. Instead of a tiered wedding cake, the couple opted for a small cutting cake with a variety of flavorful cupcakes for their guests.
