An Elegant, Traditional Wedding at Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, in McLean, Virginia

After four years of dating, Matthew Hanson, 28, proposed to Kirsten Bartelt, 26, during a weekend excursion to Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia. He gave her a box with a note reading, "4 years, 4 cupcakes, 4 little words." Kirsten opened the box to find four cupcakes, with each reading one word from the question "Will you marry me?" For their wedding, the couple chose to have an intimate, black tie affair at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, in McLean, Virginia. "It was elegant without being ostentatious, and it perfectly suited our small wedding," Kirsten says. With a classic color palette of black and white, this luxurious hotel event was an occasion to remember. Beautiful dome-shaped flower arrangements of roses, hydrangeas and stock flowers decorated the ceremony altar and adorned crystal candelabras in the reception hall. Guests dined on the Ritz-Carlton's signature dinnerware and finished off their meal with a slice from the stunning white wedding cake, which was decorated with silver dragees and white fondant bows. Kirsten looked stunning in a silk ball gown with a flowing cathedral train, and Matt complemented her in a black tuxedo and a white bow tie. Their gorgeous celebration was perfectly intimate and timeless.
