An Elegant Timeless Wedding at The Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida

Two years after Lindsey Bendure (28 and a surgical resident) and Chase Armstrong (32 and a project manager) met through a mutual friend at a Lexington, Kentucky bar, Chase popped the question. The couple was walking along the beach in Florida when he got down on one knee and proposed with a cushion-cut diamond ring. Over the next two years, they worked to plan a classic black and silver wedding in Sarasota, Florida. Lindsey’s engagement ring and the couple’s venue, The Powel Crosley Estate, inspired their theme. “The grounds are lush and green and the venue is secluded enough to feel as though you are the only people around. It gave us the perfect mix of elegance and glamour,” says Lindsey. The couple had an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Sarasota Bay. Silver chiavari chairs and arrangements of white hydrangea wrapped with lilac ribbon lined the aisle as Lindsey and Chase said “I do.” Their 120 guests flowed into the venue’s patio for a cocktail hour complete with live music from the Bay Kings Band and passed hors d’oeuvres. The couple then joined their guests for a buffet dinner and reception. The space was decorated with black linens, silver chiavari chairs and low white hydrangea centerpieces. Lindsey and Chase served nine flavors cupcakes for dessert, including salted caramel and strawberry milkshake, before spending the rest of their night dancing under an elegant crystal chandelier. For future couples, Lindsey shares: “It will always be your day so don't try to please everyone. This day is about you. It will be the best day of your life so just have fun.”
