An Elegant Summer Wedding at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York, New York

Arielle (28 and a social worker) and Steven (31 and works in finance) met at a wedding on October 10, 2010. Arielle was just a guest at the wedding while Steven was a groomsman. The sister-in-law of the groom attempted to set Arielle and Steven up during the wedding, though little conversation was had throughout the evening. The following day, Steven inquired about Arielle to the groom, and soon after, the two began dating. Three years later, Arielle was planning on meeting a friend for brunch and was shocked when Steven showed up instead with a ring in his hand. The couple decided to have their wedding at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City because of the beautiful open space that would pair perfectly with a summer wedding. Arielle wore a breathtaking strapless trumpet gown by Oscar de la Renta with a sweetheart neckline and lace accents. As to not create a stuffy ballroom atmosphere, Arielle and Steven brought white and peach toned flowers to soften the Lighthouse's modern and industrial space. Candles surrounded the high and low centerpieces to add an intimate aura to the reception area. The couple brought in Abigail Kirsch to bring spectacularly unique presentations to the food and dessert. During the reception, guests were able to sip on spiked ices that were served in lime and lemon wedges. At the end of reception, guests were able to take home donuts made by Flex Mussels as well as receive a to-go waffle from the Waffle and Dinges food truck that was waiting for guests as they left the venue. "We really tried to aim for a fun, feel good party. Though there was quite a dance party going, we felt there was a little bit of something for everyone," says Arielle.
