An Elegant Summer Wedding at Rumson Country Club in Rumson, New Jersey

Gwen Birnkrant (28 and a registered nurse at CentraState Medical Center) and John Cain Sampson (29 and a financial representative at Fidelity Investments) wanted to celebrate their nuptials in a place that was meaningful to both of them, which made Rumson, New Jersey—the town where they grew up and where they first met—an easy choice. Rumson Country Club (where John sailed as a child, and later, where he taught Gwen to sail) served as the perfect backdrop for their elegant summer wedding. A dreamy color scheme of white, pink, blue and gray pulled it all together along with a rustic-chic stag head motif—a subtle nob to John's love for hunting. "There are a lot of things that we love doing together, and a lot of things that John has taught me over the years," says Gwen. "Some of these things include wisdom, generosity and love, but he is also very proud to have taught me to hunt—shoot trap and skeet." This shared hobby inspired one of our favorite details from the day—a giant white stag head bursting from a lush flower wall behind the bar at the reception.
