An Elegant, Summer Wedding at Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel in Taneytown, Maryland

"My husband’s proposal wasn’t quite a scavenger hunt but it certainly almost felt that way," says Tina Whang (32 and a pharmacist). After surprising her with a new car, David Whang (34 and in law enforcement) set up a series of clues for Tina to find on her first test drive. The final destination was a beautifully decorated hotel room with an outdoor terrace overlooking Old Town Alexandria, which is where Dave popped the question. Their elegant, summer wedding took place at Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel, a historic venue in Taneytown, Maryland. "We chose a color palette of blues with hints of ivory and green, which blended nicely with the natural atmosphere of the venue's gardens." Gorgeous floral arrangements of white and powder blue hydrangeas, viburnum, calla lilies, roses and orchids adorned the billowy wedding arch at the outdoor ceremony and the dining tables at the ballroom reception. As a personal touch, Tina and Dave incorporated their love of traveling by designing their invitations to resemble boarding passes and using globes in their decor. They also paid homage to their Korean heritage by dressing in traditional Korean outfits for part of their celebrations. Guests feasted on delicacies prepared by Chef Gettier's team at Antrim 1844, and enjoyed cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes in addition to wedding cake. Tina and Dave's favorite part of their breathtaking wedding was not the decor or the food, however; it was the presence of their families at this milestone event. "Having the support and involvement of family on our wedding day made our union sweeter and even more special for us."
