An Elegant Spring Wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina

Rebecca Sindelar (31 and a corporate trainer) and David Shoemaker (36 and a mortgage loan officer) had never been to South Carolina when they decided to have their wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston. "Pictures and good faith from others that Charleston is stunning was all we needed to move forward," Rebecca says. The couple's risk-taking paid off: the venue was perfect for their lavish, intimate wedding. Rebecca and Dave were married in the garden under a big tree that was decorated with hanging white garlands. The following reception took place in Magnolia Plantation's conservatory. "Because we had our wedding in a greenhouse, we wanted everything to be free-flowing and organic but also elegant at the same time," Rebecca says. To achieve this look, the long dining tables were lined with an array of mercury votive candles and arrangements of blush, peach and ivory flowers and greenery. Some of the tables were covered in satin runners while others had pretty sequined tablecloths. After a delicious feast, Rebecca and Dave took to dancing outdoors on the conservatory's patio, where cafe lights cast a warm glow on the dance floor. "It was so romantic," Rebecca says.
