A Rustic Elegant Wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, Michigan
The theme was rustic elegance when Cortney (32) ?and Mike (31, both in retail management) tied the knot at Charlevoix's Castle Farms. "We wanted something entirely different than every other wedding we've attended," Cortney explains. "I found the place online, we took the four hour trip up north and instantly fell in love." The two-be-weds said "I do" in an outdoor ceremony in the venue's courtyard under a rustic stone arch while 75 friends and family members looked on. "We had drinks waiting for our guests in mason jars when they arrived," the bride says. When the reception rolled around, wedding guests were ushered into the "Knight's Castle", where the couple had created a scene of rustic romance using a rich purple and gray color scheme paired with outdoor elements. Centerpieces were crafted using various succulents and cuts of birch wood while simple, white folding chairs kept the overall reception from looking too cluttered. "Our wedding reflected us as a couple because nothing was too fussy," Cortney explains. "We had a beautiful, unique venue with various outdoor elements and didn't go overboard with the decorations. We just let the venue speak for itself."
