An Elegant, Rustic Chic Wedding at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, Wisconsin

Annie (31 and a dental hygienist) and Peter (34 and works in commercial real estate) first met one summer at the pool where they both worked as lifeguards. The pair got on well, quickly became good friends and 14 years later found themselves walking down the aisle. “We remained friends for years and though we went our separate ways in terms of our love lives, we rekindled our relationship after running into each other at a street festival in Chicago,” says Annie. Peter popped the question on a surprise trip to California, where the couple roadtripped along the Pacific Coast Highway, visiting different cities along the way. The pair planned a rustic, elegant celebration at the Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, Wis., where lush fairways, manicured gardens and a charming stone barn provided a beautiful backdrop for the summer affair. The couple exchanged vows on the Championship Locker Room Terrace overlooking the venue’s vast green straits, followed by a lively reception in the Irish Barn, a striking structure with a fieldstone facade and exposed wooden beams. The pair filled the warm, inviting space with crisp white linens, varied romantic arrangements of blush and ivory blooms and natural wood elements to create to achieve an elegant, rustic aesthetic, while votive candles and strands of twinkling lights infused the room with a warm ambient glow. After a sit-down dinner, the couple and their guests hit the dance floor with their danced the night away to the sounds of the band Enough Said.
