An Elegant Rustic Chic Wedding at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset, Massachusetts

Lyssa Moore (27 and an event planner) and John Folino (27 and a mortgage broker) met quite by accident when she went to a baseball party at the University of Connecticut, where they both attended, to meet another guy she thought was cute. When she noticed John, though, all bets were off. "Fortunately for me, the guy showed no interest and John swooped in for the kill," says Lyssa. The two clicked immediately and started dating not long after. After dating for eight years, John proposed at Granite Links Golf Course at sunset overlooking the Boston skyline. "He bet me dinner that I couldn't put the ball in the hole in just three tries," says Lyssa. "When I finally got the ball in, the box was inside and John got down on one knee. "When it came to wedding planning, they knew that a fall wedding would suit them perfectly. “I love New England foliage,” says Lyssa, “and I did not want to be hot on my wedding day!” As an event planner by trade, Lyssa knew a thing or two about pulling off a festive party. “John is a hunter, so I tried to tastefully work in a few antlers here and there. All the decor was rustic to go with the barn setting at the Red Lion Inn. I especially loved our birch log place card holders and our happily ever after sign, both of which we made ourselves." They couple stuck with a simple ivory and white color palette to give the rustic venue a timeless, elegant vibe, adding votive candles and handpainted table numbers for a romantic, whimsical touch. A photo booth stocked with silly props and and an ice cream cart for a few late night snacks were fun details that were a huge hit with guests.
