An Elegant, Rustic Barn Wedding at Squirrel Creek Ranch in Grass Valley, California
Stephanie Wahab (28 and a coach) and Grant Wenzl (28 and a project engineer) met during their junior year at California State University, Chico. Stephanie and her boyfriend at the time showed up at a party where Stephanie first met Grant, and thought he was such a gentleman. When Stephanie ended the relationship with her boyfriend, her group of friends had merged with Grant’s and they ended up hanging out all the time. Stephanie and Grant realized their compatibility with each other and eventually started to date. They traveled to San Francisco (Stephanie’s favorite city) one weekend and were heading to Pier 39 to eat dinner on the water. Grant ended up leading Stephanie to the docks instead of the restaurant, where he rented out a sailboat to take around San Francisco Bay. As the sun was setting, Grant proposed to Stephanie with cushion cut diamond. The couple had their wedding at Squirrel Creek Ranch in Grass Valley, California, which had the country, rustic feel the couple was looking for due to their upbringing on farmland. The color palette of blush, ivory and tan decorated the outdoor wedding space and indoor barn reception, along with the flower arrangements and wedding attire. Stephanie’s aunt created their intricate five-tiered wedding cake with a different flavor in each layer, and Stephanie’s cousin created the crocheted bride and groom chicken cake topper. Guests were given mini bourbon and vodka bottles as wedding favors to take home with them after long day of celebrating Stephanie and Grant’s love.
